Nordkapp

In the same way as points such as the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Horn, the North Cape is a place that every authentic traveller simply has to visit. The outermost reach of Europe marks a celebratory finish to any journey to the north.

Nordkapp is at the World’s end

The 307 meter high Northern Cape cliff forms the north end of the European landmass. From the top you see nothing but the horizon. The Midnight sun glows over the golden sea, billowing storms rush through and in winter the aurora flickers above, this is a place all real travelers must visit.

Nordkapp is a place for bird lovers

At Gjesværstappan, hundreds of thousands of puffins, auks, guillemots, kittiwakes and gannets nest in the summer. The small hike to the natural arch named Kirkeporten offers magnificent Nordkapp views. Some also take the trip to Knivskjelodden, which is actually further north than Nordkapp. In summertime reindeer graze all over the island.

Honningsvåg is a lively fishing village

The fishing village of Honningsvåg is a lively small town, known for its talkative, direct and humorous inhabitants and its rich cultural life in the winter darkness. The small fishing villages Kamøyvær, Gjesvær and Skarsvåg, which are farthest to the north, are compact signs of civilisation surrounded by powerful and wild nature.
