The small hike to the natural arch named Kirkeporten offers magnificent Nordkapp views. Some also take the trip to Knivskjelodden, which is actually further north than Nordkapp. In summertime reindeer graze all over the island.

The fishing village of Honningsvåg is a lively small town, known for its talkative, direct and humorous inhabitants and its rich cultural life in the winter darkness. The small fishing villages Kamøyvær, Gjesvær and Skarsvåg, which are farthest to the north, are compact signs of civilisation surrounded by powerful and wild nature.
